www.Bigflix.com, is an online Movie download and DVD rental company owned by Anil Ambani Group, is planning to launch a new service movie downloads via a set top box which will allow downloading and streaming of movies and other video content from its online portal and play it directly on the television.
The site offers browsing of wide range of full length Indian movies, TV Shows, plays, music videos and kids’ videos and a range of movies that can be viewed online for free. One can also buy/rent the video form the portal.
The company had planned to have 200 stores operating by March 2009 , now its planning to do it by june09 because of the slowdown of real estate prices.The long-term plan is to have 500 stores operating in the next four or five years in 25-30 cities.
Mr Kamal Gianchandani, Chief Operating Officer, BifFlix.com, said BigFlix’s has around 21000 titles already, he said. “In fact, the slowdown is a great time to acquire content as it gives us a lot of bargaining power,”
