Paul the octopus predicts Spain to win Fifa World Cup Final 2010 – video

Paul is an octopus who lives at the Sea Life Centre in Oberhausen Germany. He has become famous for his ability to “predict” the outcome of soccer matches. Two boxes are lowered into his tank, each box contains an oyster or a mussel and the flag for each team in the match.
Paul the prognosticator octopus has predicted Spain will defeat Holland in the World Cup final 2010 on sunday.
According to Wikipedia, “Paul was used during UEFA Euro 2008 to correctly predict the outcome of 4 out of 6 of Germany’s matches, but failed to predict their defeats to Croatia in the group stage[6] and to Spain in the championship’s final, although some later sources claim his success rate had been 80%. Paul’s accurate predictions for the 2010 World Cup, broadcast live by German news channel NTV, have endowed him with celebrity status.”
So the Spaniards are placing their trust in a octopus for this Sunday’s match and the Dutch in a parakeet who picked a card for the Netherlands.
When Paul opens the box and eats the treat, he is “predicting” the outcome of the match. He has been correct so far this year. However, his track record is not 100%
“Millions watched as the eight-legged oracle descended upon on a tank marked with a Spanish flag, sitting for only a few minutes before grabbing a mussel and devouring it, while completely ignoring the Dutch tank—indicating a Spanish victory in Sunday’s final match in Sunday’s final,” reported the Associated Press.
