Sherlyn Chopra stripped for a cause
Super Model turned actress Sherlyn Chopra stripped in front of media to protest cruelty on animals in circus. She posed for new PETA anti Circus campaign, chopra posed with chain and Whip and the punch line was ”Whips and Chains Belong in the Bedroom, Not in the Circus”.
“When I pose in chains, its news,” said Chopra, “When circus animals live their lives in chains, its business as usual. Only a sadist could take pleasure from watching while an animal is forced to engage in an unnatural act all in the name of ‘entertainment’.”
Nearly four years ago many animal including sea lions, Dogs and even Cats were burnt alive in Mumbai. These animal were bought from Russia to Mumabi by an event management company and abandoned on field, same time fire occurred in the tent animal were burnt alive.
Animal in Circus don’t lead a normal life, they undergo physical abuse, psychological trauma, chronic confinement. They trained under threat of whips and beatings and complled to perform in front of audiences.
“Physical punishment has always been the standard training method for animals in circuses”, said PETA India’s Sachin Bangera. “Animals are beaten and whipped to make them perform – over and over again – tricks that make no sense to them.”
