“Avatar” breaks box-office records with its $278 million revenue!
In Hollywood’s biggest-ever box-office weekend, “Avatar” held the top spot while earning only slightly less during its second week of release. With “Avatar” holding up its $278 million revenue, industry tracker Exhibitor Relations reported that it is the highest point in the film industry’s history. That beats the legendary 1997 Oscar-winner “Titanic” by raking in $75 million from Friday to Sunday, according to preliminary estimates by Exhibitor Relations.
Following the winner was “Sherlock Holmes” by Guy Ritchie with $65.4 million, “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” with 50.2 million dollars, and the last is Nancy Meyer’s “It’s Complicated” with $22.1 million.
