Director Sudipto Chattopadhya who is currently making Pankh for whitefeather films with Bipasha Basu is pretty nervous.
Pankh with its bold theme of gender identity had already created ripples in the film industry circle. To calm his frail nerves down, Sudipto had a special screening of the rushes of Pankh for a select few from the film fraternity and check on their reaction.
Sudipto heaved a sigh of relief when his select guests stepped out of the preview theatre with a smile on their face.
Sudipto said, "I was glad that the audience could easily connect to the main protagonist emotionally. The theme of Pankh touched their hearts and that itself was a triumphant moment for me. Everyone who saw the scenes we showed them was full of praise. It was heart warming."
Bipasha Basu’s equation with majority of the Bollywood actresses is less than cordial. Be it Kareena, or Deepika, Miss Basu seems to rub them the wrong way. Now we can add Katrina Kaif to this club even though Bips denies any animosity between them.
On Kareena:
There is no question of patching up with Kareena since we never fought with each other, besides she is not my ex lover! Whatever happened between Kareena and me in my first film was years ago and I don’t even remember it? My memory is only 3 years. I don’t remember things beyond 3 years but media likes to keep the alleged tiff alive! The fight or whatever it was, given the person that I am, I can’t literally fight with someone be it with words or by actions. It was just awkwardness and it’s gone because she called me for Saif’s birthday recently.
“It was very sweet of her. She spent a little time with me. She really took good care of me and didn’t leave me alone even for a second. We spoke quite a bit and of whatever time I spent with her, she is a fine human being, I just didn’t get a chance to know her before.” Read more »
Bipasha Basu once again is the news for all the wrong reasons. The actress dismisses rumors that she and Ranbir Kapoor are involved and says their relationship is platonic.
“Let me say it right now, Ranbir is not a good friend, he is a great friend. I enjoyed working with him throughout the film. Though I didn’t work alongside Deepika, I spent a lot of time with her during the promotion. I gel well with her.” Talking about the couple, she says, “They are a fantastic couple, and individually they are excellent. I’m good friends with both of them.” Well, how was it working on the film? “It was an interesting part for me. A lot of girls called me saying how they identified with my character.”
