Shah Rukh Khan turned 40 today, saying life has been good to him and he was planning to quit smoking. “It’s completion of four decades (of life) … sounds nice and good,” said the Padma Shri awardee, who gave a string of hits like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Devdas. A self-proclaimed chain-smoker, he said: “I am planning to quit smoking for a healthier life as I enter another decade.”

2009 has been a quiet year for Shahrukh and his fans, but the year 2010 has more for srk fans with My Name Is Khan all set to release in the first quarter of the year.
Shah Rukh is also the owner of IPL team Kolkatta knight riders.
He is the founder/owner of two production houses, Dreamz Unlimited and Red Chillies Entertainment.
In 2008, Newsweek magazine named shah rukh one of the 50 most powerful people in the world.
King Khan Shahrukh moved into tears on learning the death of pop star Michael Jackson. He was speaking to the press reporters after being honored with Doctorate degree by UK’s Bedfordshire University. “I cried, it was since long I cried. My wife and kids also cried,” admitted Shahrukh.
Recalling his meeting with the pop king, Shahrukh revealed, “I felt very sad. I had met him. He was a wonderful creation of God”.
Jackson’s death came as a big shock for his fans world over. He was cremated in a grand manner in the attendance of huge crowd.

The much hyped new Hindi movie Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer My Name Is Khan (MNIK), the production house is positive as they have come up with new clothing collection and footwear range in association with Reebok.
Reebok is specially designed MNIK collection a combination of sports and lifestyle and is targeted at Indian sports and fashion conscious Indian Market. The highlight of the collection is the footwear, Rizwan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan’s character wear this footwear all over the movie, said a press release from the firm.
The Reebok MNIK footwear and apparel brand is priced between Rs.999-Rs.5,999, and is available at selected Reebok stores.
Shah rukh Khan is going the Aamir kahn way in promoting his latest film Billu Barber. the buzz is that Khan has invited over 400 barbers to attend the premiere of the film. This also comes amidst the rumors that Hairdressers Association are pestering SRK and gang to change the barber word from the films title.
Priyadarshan, director of Billu Barber says, “Instead of having celebs over for the premiere of Billu Barber, Shah Rukh has planned to invite 400 barbers and their families to the premiere. His idea is to welcome barbers for the premiere on February 12, as the film revolves around Irrfan Khan, who plays a barber. Things are just getting organized for the premiere and the office is also in talks with the barbers’ association to get everything sorted for the big day.”
However Uday Takke, president of Hair Dresser association says, We want Billu Barber to be called Billu Hairdresser as barber is a derogatory and insulting term. We choose hairdressing as a profession because it is an art. Also there are many women hairstylists if Billu Barber becomes a hit, women hairdressers will be called barbers too!”
However SRK on the issue says, “Oh wow! So much for freedom of expression. We have not made this film to disrespect anyone. As a matter of fact, when a title of the film is kept after the protagonist, it is only to honor that character.”

Says a source, "After the launch party of Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, hosted by international hotelier, Sol Kerzner (Chairman- Kerzner International) and Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, SRK and Gauri hosted a party at their Atlantis Bridge Suite (costs £14,000 a night)."
The source adds, "At the after-launch party, SRK and Gauri played host to some of Hollywood’s biggest names like Robert De Niro, Gerard Butler, Mischa Barton, Mary-Kate Olsen, Kylie Minogue, Charlize Theron, Lindsay Lohan, Wesley Snipes, tycoon Richard Branson and some of SRK’s close friends from B-Town like Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan, Arjun and Mehr Rampal and Farhan Akhtar. The rocking party went on till the wee hours of the morning."
